NSF Welcomes Dean Bergy and Nancy Lurker to Board of Directors

ANN ARBOR, Mich.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–NSF, the leading global public health and safety organization, today announced the appointment of Dean Bergy and Nancy Lurker to its Board of Directors.


“Dean Bergy and Nancy Lurker are welcome additions to our NSF Board of Directors,” said Pedro Sancha, President and CEO, NSF. “They each bring decades of leadership experience in the life sciences industry that will support NSF’s mission to improve human and planet health as we celebrate our 80th anniversary this year.”

Bergy spent more than 25 years with Stryker Corporation, one of the world’s leading medical technology companies, where he served as Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary before retiring in 2020. A Certified Public Accountant, in addition to his extensive background in corporate finance, he serves on the City of Kalamazoo’s Retirement Investment Committee, Southwest Michigan First’s Audit Committee and the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts Endowment Committee. He also served on the board of directors of RTI Biologics, Inc. from 2010 to 2016, including as the Board Chair and Audit Committee Chair. Bergy completed the Program for Management Development at the Harvard Business School and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan.

Lurker is recognized for her diverse experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. She most recently served as CEO of EyePoint Pharmaceuticals Corporation and has served in leadership roles at PDI, INC, Novartis, ImpactRx, Pharmacia and Bristol-Myers Squibb Corporation. She is on the board of directors of EyePoint Pharmaceuticals Corporation and Altasciences, LLC and serves as an advisor for the Stanford School of Medicine’s Master’s in Translational Medicine program and Novo Holdings. She holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Evansville and a Bachelor of Science in Biology degree from Seattle Pacific University.
