Inside the Room: Highlights From Attilio’s Inaugural Longevity Event

health news

Leading scientists explained how a longer life can also be a healthier one. Attilio’s mission is to bring that science within reach of four out of five Americans.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Nov. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Attilio(TM) held its inaugural Longevity Event twice, delivering the same full program on Thursday, October 29, at Stanford University and on Friday, October 30, at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging. Founding Members spent each day with leading longevity scientists and left with a clearer picture of how added years can be lived well.

Attilio's CEO & Founder Paul Pagnato speaking about the future of Attilio

The question is timely. Average life expectancy in the United States rose from 47 years in 1900 to nearly 77 in 2000, according to the Stanford Center on Longevity. The faculty spent both days on what comes next: how people use those extra years.

Dr. Laura Carstensen, Co-Chair of Attilio’s Longevity Event and founding director of the Stanford Center on Longevity, opened with the New Map of Life, the Center’s framework for spreading added years across every stage of life rather than tacking them onto the end.

Dr. Eric Verdin, Co-Chair of Attilio’s Longevity Event and President and CEO of the Buck Institute, described the geroscience approach: because the biology of aging sits behind many chronic diseases, addressing it may delay several conditions at once rather than treating each in turn. With Michele Miller, Director of Attilio Health, Verdin presented the Dr. Verdin Baseline Assessment(TM), which measures health capacity and gives each person a clear starting point.

Dr. Robert Waldinger, director of the Harvard Study of Adult Development, shared what researchers have learned since the study began in 1938: satisfaction with close relationships at midlife predicted later health more strongly than social class, IQ, or genetics.

Additional faculty covered the rest of the agenda: Dr. David Furman on the immune system’s role in aging; Dr. Michael Breus and Dr. Sahil Chopra on sleep, and Dr. Mike Stone and Dr. Nathan Price in an open conversation about preventative healthcare.

There were no sponsors at either event, by design. Every Attilio gathering operates under the company’s Conflict-Free Standards(TM): no company pays for a place on the stage or in the program, and no sponsor branding appears anywhere in the room. Guests registered and paid to attend, and the faculty were free to say what the evidence shows.

Across both days, guests kept returning to the same two words: life changing.

Attilio Mission: Democratize access to +100Year Quality Lifespan, reaching 99% of U.S. population. These two events were the first public step toward that goal.

The next Longevity Event takes place Friday, March 26, 2027, at the Buck Institute.
