SymphonyCare’s Empower Patient Portal Achieves 2015 Edition ONC Health IT Certification
MADISON, Wis.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#patientengagement—SymphonyCare, the leading provider of integrated clinical and claims data solutions, today announced its EmpowerTM patient portal version 6.4 achieved certification from the 2015 Edition Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) Health IT Certification Program.
Empower v.6.4 was certified on November 5, 2019 by ICSA Labs, an Office of the National Coordinator-Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB) and is compliant in accordance with applicable criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

Previously certified for ONC’s 2014 Edition, ICSA Labs verified Empower now meets 18 different 2015 Edition criteria for both an inpatient and ambulatory setting. The ONC Certified Health Information Technology (HIT) program tests and certifies that HIT is capable of meeting the 2015 Edition criteria approved by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). The certifications include Complete EHRs, which meet all of the 2015 Edition criteria for either eligible provider or hospital technology and EHR Modules, which meet one or more — but not all — of the criteria.
